Guest Reviews & Ratings
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The location was convenient for exploring Lawrence and the KU campus, but the exterior surroundings were noisy. The room, although clean, felt dark and enclosed due to the small window blocked by brown shutters. Service was friendly but lacking in responsiveness. The dining options were hit or miss, with some dishes being poorly executed. Despite its flaws, the hotel offered easy access to campus activities and a nostalgic vibe for alumni.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of good and not-so-great experiences. The rooms were spacious and had a nice view, but the design with solid wood doors as window coverings made the atmosphere a bit dark and depressing. The service was outstanding, with very friendly and helpful staff. The location was ideal for exploring the surrounding areas, although not super convenient for some activities. The dining options were good and reasonably priced. Overall, a decent stay with room for improvement.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positive and negative aspects. The rooms were huge and nicely decorated, with a great view, but there was a constant smell of sewer gas. The service was exceptional, especially the valets, but it was disappointing that room service left early. The location was superb, right on the University of Kansas campus, but lacked a proper sitting area. The dining experience was a hit or miss, with some great dishes and some severe disappointments. Overall, a stay with ups and downs.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. Although the rooms were clean and comfortable, they felt a bit dark and didn't quite match the price we paid. The service was a combination of really great and marginally competent, with friendly and efficient staff but some shortcomings like a poorly stocked bar. The location was superb, being just seconds away from the campus and a short stroll to Lawrence's fantastic Mass Street. The dining options were limited, with some disappointing experiences, but delicious food in the morning made up for it. Overall, the hotel had its ups and downs.
The hotel is centrally located on the fourth floor, with large shutters creating a blackout effect, although this setup may feel a bit depressing. The noise level in the room can be distracting, and some cleanliness issues were noticeable.
The hotel had some mixed aspects to consider. The rooms presented an echo issue probably due to their tall ceilings and sparse decor, giving an institutional vibe for the high price tag. A peculiar design choice was the solid wood doors used as window coverings, limiting both light and privacy. Unfortunately, there were some challenges locating reservations, but ultimately, the experience either met or slightly exceeded expectations.
